As part of a unique limited-edition collaboration, Converse pairs up with Baltimore-based hardcore punk band, Turnstile for a match that feels like it was meant to be. Paying homage to their acclaimed album, ‘Glow On’, two silhouettes – the Chuck 70 High and the One Star Pro – have been reimagined, the Turnstile way.

Over the past years, Turnstile has taken hardcore punk to places it’s never been before, disrupting the status quo. The band have brought typically a niche genre, based around a more aggressive form of rock, to a wider audience and a whole new generation of fans. With big-ticket gigs under their belt – we’re saying Glasto, My Chemical Romance and Blink-182’s reunion support, as well as their own tour, Turnstile has gone from strength to strength. Now the band have channelled their inner essence to two Converse classics, which have gone down a storm with fans of the band and brand alike.

Hardcore punk and skateboarding are the perfect match, many skaters opt for the genre when selecting a background for video uploads – it just works so well. Being avid skateboarders themselves, Turnstile always finds the time to skate whilst out on tour, so it’s no surprise this collab includes a skate legend.

Converse x Turnstile One Star Pro

This classic skateboarding silhouette has been doused with Turnstile’s unapologetic aesthetic, inspired by their ‘Glow On’ album artwork. The uppers are outfitted in white leather, while the lone star on the sidewall is given a friend, both commanding attention in pink glitter. To add a dose of unique styling, you get three options for laces – pink fuzzy and glitter, and white heritage. For something a little bit special, the lyrics ‘Can’t Be The Only One’ from ‘Alien Love Call’ are embossed on the foxing tape – dubbing this pair as the Only One Star.

Converse x Turnstile Chuck 70 High

Arriving in all-black, this familiar silhouette has been given a ‘Blackout’-inspired makeover with reflective artwork from the band’s tour, ‘The Love Connection’, featuring on the lateral side. Translucent foxing tape plays into the alternative look, giving the design an edge, while underfoot, the translucent outsole reveals the band’s ‘New Heart Designs’ album artwork.

The collab is cemented by co-branded license plates, as well as Turnstile members silhouetted on the insole – reminiscent of the ‘Blackout’ music video. To top it off, the Chuck 70 comes with three distinct laces – glitter, fuzzy and heritage – all of which feature Turnstile branded tips.
